BMW 2 Series Active Tourer updated for 2018

BMW has announced local pricing and specification for the updated 2 Series Active Tourer. The refreshed 2 Series Active Tourer is available from launch in 220i Luxury Line form, featuring redesigned exterior and interior designs as well as an updated drivetrain and standard specification priced from $49,500 plus on-road costs.

The 2 Series Active Tourer’s exterior has been refreshed with a bolder appearance, led by the adoption of standard LED headlights. These feature hexagonal daytime running lights and are augmented by LED front fog lights.

The revised, larger kidney grille and single-piece front apron add further presence to the front-end design of the 2 Series Active Tourer.

Moving to the rear, the standard Luxury Line rear apron has been redesigned, with a new rear bumper section incorporating a new twin exhaust outlet, the pipes increasing in size from the previous 75mm outlets to 90mm for a sporting ambience.

Chrome Line Exterior highlights and new-design 18-inch light alloy wheels further differentiate the updated 2 Series Active Tourer.

In all, there is an impressive array of 13 exterior paint finishes, including the new Sunset Orange and Jucaro Beige metallic colours.

Opt for the M Sport Package and the legendary Estoril Blue becomes available. There are also five light alloy wheel options available.

Highlighting the dual-clutch transmission is a newly-designed, electronically-controlled central gear selector, while Dakota leather is now standard on redesigned seats.

A new 6.5-inch colour touchscreen forms the key point of interaction with the 2 Series Active Tourer’s infotainment system. Featuring satellite navigation as standard the iDrive6 interface offers a tile-based display that can be arranged to the driver’s preference. An 8.8-inch touchscreen is optionally available.

The updated BMW 220i Active Tourer is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that drives the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Producing some 141kW and 280Nm, the 220i Active Tourer accelerates from rest to 100km/h in 7.4 seconds. Fuel consumption is recorded at 5.9L/100km.
