Audi adds more powerful 3.0 TDI V6 diesel to Q5 range

Audi has added a more powerful diesel variant to its popular Q5 mid-size SUV range in the form of the V6-powered 3.0 TDI quattro.

Slotted between the petrol-powered 2.0 TFSI quattro and the SQ5 performance flagship, the new 3.0 TDI quattro produces 210kW of power and a full 620Nm of torque available from just 1500 rpm. Athletic acceleration is assured, reaching 100km/h from rest in just 5.8 seconds. This is not to the detriment of fuel economy, with a combined consumption figure of just 6.3 litres per 100km.

Power from the 3.0 TDI V6 engine is channelled through the eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, and then through the quattro all-wheel drive system with a mechanical centre differential that distributes torque 40:60 front-to-rear under normal driving conditions.

The Audi Q5 3.0 TDI has been awarded a 5-star EuroNCAP and ANCAP safety rating, thanks to an impressive array of standard safety and driver assistance features.
