Ahead of its early 2020 arrival, Mazda Australia has released local specifications and pricing for the all-new Mazda CX-30.
The second of Mazda’s new generation vehicles after the Mazda 3, the CX-30 sits between the CX-3 small crossover and CX-5 mid-size SUV, offering families yet another alternative in the booming compact SUV segment.
Mazda claims that the new CX-30’s proportions provide roominess and space without compromising on styling or the manoeuvrability needed for city living. The company has used ergonomic driver research to deliver Mazda CX-30’s human-centric cabin design, while the use of premium materials and advanced technology adds to its comfort and safety package.
Offered in Pure, Evolve, Touring and Astina model grades, the Mazda CX-30 is powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.0L or Skyactiv-G 2.5L petrol engines, available with a 6 speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission paired with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Mimicking outputs of the Mazda3, the CX-30’s Skyactiv-G 2.0-litre engine develops 114kW/200Nm, while the more powerful 2.5-litre unit produces 139kW and 252Nm.
Like the rest of Mazda’s offerings, the CX-30 combines bold proportions with elegant styling that embodies the Japanese company‘s acclaimed Kodo design language.
Customers will have a choice between eight exterior colours, including Polymetal Grey Metallic, Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Grey Metallic, Sonic Silver Metallic, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Titanium Flash Mica, Deep Crystal Blue Mica and Jet Black Mica.
Inside, the CX-30 mirrors the new-generation Mazda3 with an upmarket interior and a large 8.8-inch central infotainment display that integrates satellite navigation as standard, plus phone-mirroring technologies Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The interior of high spec Touring and Astina models are offered with a Rich Brown colour scheme, paired with either Black leather or Pure White leather trim, while Pure and Evolve are offered with a Navy Blue and Black cloth combination.
Comfort in the cabin is reassured by a comprehensive list of passive and active safety kit including Blind Spot Monitoring, Smart Brake Support, Traffic Sign Recognition and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
Astina grade features Vision Technology as standard, which includes a series of Mazda’s most advanced driver support and safety technologies, including a 360˚ View Monitor, Cruising & Traffic Support, Front Cross Traffic Alert and Driver Monitoring.
As the fifth SUV model to join the Mazda line-up, the CX-30 will compete against larger models of the compact SUV class such as the Nissan Qashqai and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
