All-new Genesis GV80 arrives in Australia from $90,600

Genesis’ third and flagship model in Australia, the Genesis GV80, will make its local debut in October 2020, priced from $90,600 plus on-road costs and joining the G70 and G80 sedans.

Available in four variants and three powertrains, with rear- or all-wheel drive, seating for five or seven and an optional Luxury Package, the range kicks off with the 2.5T powered by an all-new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine generating 224kW and 422Nm of torque. The engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Standard luxury appointments include a mood-lit cabin with genuine leather and wood-finished trim, a 14.5-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, 12.0-inch Head-up Display, a 1,050 Watt, 21-speaker Lexicon premium sound system, panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels and a powered tailgate.

Safety is taken care of by 10 airbags and the Genesis Active Safety Control suite of technologies, including a multi-function Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system, Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go and Machine Learning functions, and a Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 3D function.

The 2.5T AWD adds an all-wheel drive system and an extra pair of seats for a total of seven with the addition of a third row. It’s priced from $95,600 plus on-road costs.

Next up is the 3.0D AWD priced from $103,600 plus-on road costs. It packs a straight-six turbo-diesel engine producing 204kW and 588Nm of torque.

Topping the range is the 3.5T AWD which is headlined by the all-new 3.5-litre V6 turbocharged petrol boasting 279kW and 530Nm.

Both the 3.0D and 3.5T come with 7 seats and add Road Preview Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension, an electro-mechanical limited slip differential (e-LSD) and 22-inch alloy wheels shot with 265/40 Michelin tyres.

The entire GV80 range can be enhanced with the $10,000 Luxury Package which brings Nappa leather trim, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, soft close doors, an 18-way power adjustable driver’s seat with Ergo Motion massage function, and additional Genesis Active Safety Control systems.

Customers can also option the Matte Paint finish for an additional $2,000.

All Genesis comes with what the brand calls “The Genesis Experience” with 5 years warranty, 5 years complimentary scheduled servicing with vehicle pick-up and drop-off or courtesy vehicle and 5 years 24/7 roadside assistance.
