2019 Peugeot 508 Australian pricing and specification

The all-new 2019 Peugeot 508 line-up has arrived in Australia, offered solely as a GT model priced from $53,990 plus on-road costs.

Available in Fastback and Sportswagon body styles, the latter demands a $2,000 premium at $55,990 plus on-road costs.

Both variants are powered by an all-new, high-output version of Peugeot’s proven 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 165kW and 300Nm of torque. Power is directed to the front wheels via an eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission.

Peugeot claims the 508 GT will sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.1 seconds (8.2 seconds for the Sportswagon) while sipping just 6.3L/100km of fuel on the combined cycle.

Standard kit includes Peugeot’s latest suite of driver assistance systems, including a semi-autonomous highway driving assist that incorporates adaptive cruise control and late keep assist functions, LED head and taillights, massaging front seats upholstered in Nappa leather, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch infotainment screen with navigation and smartphone mirroring.

There are nine body colours to choose from although all bar one (Hurricane Grey) are metallic paints costing an extra $690, while premium paints (Ultimate Red and Pearl White) commands a $1,050 premium.

The only other option is the $2,500 electric sunroof.

Compared to its predecessor the all-new 508 is lighter, lower and shorter yet offers greater interior space, more technology, a significantly more powerful engine and improved fuel economy.

“The Peugeot 508 arrives at a time when the sedan segment is ripe for a shake-up. Not only is the 508 outstanding value, it’s great to look at, great to drive and it stands out in its class,” said Ben Farlow, Managing Director of Peugeot Australia.

Like the rest of Peugeot’s local line-up, the new Peugeot 508 comes with five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty, five-year roadside assistance and five-year capped-price servicing.
