2017 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor is one monster ute!

Ford has taken the wraps off its 2017 F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Cab at the North American International Auto Show.

As the name suggests, the Raptor SuperCrew Cab comes with four full-sized doors, promising greater passenger comfort and storage space – thanks to an additional 30cm in wheelbase compared to the SuperCab Raptor. The truck is also wider by 15cm than the standard F-150, giving it a more muscular stance.

The SuperCrew is around 227kg lighter than the superseded model, courtesy of high-strength steel and aluminium construction.

Other highlights include new 17-inch wheels with next-generation BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tyres, dual exhausts and FOX Racing shocks with 1.25cm bigger canisters for more ride height. The shocks is equipped with custom internal bypass valving that provide more damping and stiffness.

Underneath the giant bonnet is Ford’s 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 delivering 302kW and 588Nm of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and an improved all-wheel drive system with torque-on-demand transfer case.

Sadly, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew is a US-only proposition, where it will go on sale in late 2016.
