Skoda’s flagship, the Superb, has been updated with a fresh interior and improved technical features, along with better fuel economy and on both petrol and diesel variants.

The new front end has been completely redesigned up to the A-pillars with revised radiator grille, vehicle logo, front headlights and fog lights, bumper, front fender, and bonnet. The new Skoda logo is now placed prominently in the centre of the bonnet, which is slightly sloped downward. The completely redesigned front headlights now has Bi-Xenon with integrated LED daytime running lights and LED indicators.

For the first time in the Superb, three light strips make up the C-shaped rear lights that are characteristic of the brand, coming standard as LEDs.

Two metallic paint shades in Metal Grey or Moon White are also new choices for the Superb’s exterior. The range of wheels has also been refreshed: 17-inch Twister, standard on the Ambition specification, and 18-inch Trinity, standard on the Elegance specification.

The 2015 Skoda Superb promises better fuel efficiency than before. The petrol variant features the 118kW TSI engine, which produces 250Nm and achieves a combined fuel cycle of 7.2 litres per 100km with brake energy recuperation as standard. The diesel engine is a 125kW two-litre engine which produces 350Nm and achieves a combined fuel cycle of 5.5 litres per 100km and also features Start-Stop technology and Brake Energy Recuperation.

Both engines are paired with a DSG transmission as standard – a seven speed DSG features with the 118TSI engine, and a six-speed for the 125TDI.

For the first time ever, the sedan and the wagon feature the most recent version of the Automatic Parking Assist, standard in the Elegance specification. In addition to entering and exiting parking spots parallel to the traffic lane, it now supports entering parking spots backwards perpendicular to the traffic lane.

For contemporary infotainment and navigation the Ambition specification receives the Bolero radio with 6.5-inch display, MP3 player including Bluetooth® audio and streaming, USB, AUX, CD player, SD card slot and eight speakers. The Elegance specification receives the top-of-the-line Columbus satellite navigation unit with 6.5-inch display, a 30GB hard drive, integrated audio including Bluetooth® audio and streaming, USB, AUX, SD card slot and a 10-speaker premium sound system.

The sedan and wagon boast the segment’s most generous knee room for passengers in the rear seats. Luggage compartment is equally impressive. The basic volume of the sedan is 565 litres, and the wagon is 603 litres. The compartment can be extended to 1,670 and 1,835 litres, respectively, by folding the rear seats.
