2013 Kia Cerato Hatch pricing and specifications

The Kia Cerato Hatch has joined the sedan range in Australia. Pricing and specifications are identical to the sedan, with the range starting from $19,990 plus on-road costs for the 1.8-litre Cerato S Hatch.

Designed at Kia’s Seoul design centre under the direction of Kia’s Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, the third-generation Cerato hatch takes its stylish European lines with wider and lower stance for that ‘dynamic muscular’ look.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Cerato hatch is 10mm longer, 10mm lower and 5mm wider. The wheelsbase has been extended by 50mm.

Available in three trim levels – S, Si and SLi, the highly equipped hatch is powered by either a 110kW/178Nm 1.8-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine (S), or a 129kW/209Nm 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine (Si and SLi). Both engines either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Fuel consumption is rated at 6.6L/100km (7.1L/100km for automatic) for the 1.8-litre engine and 7.4L/100km for the 2.0-litre engine (both transmissions).

As with the sedan, the Cerato Hatch receives Australian specific ride and handling tune to meet Australian drivers’ expectation.

All cars are equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control and vehicle stability management that works with the ESC to provide ‘corrective’ steering inputs.
