Volkswagen Mk7 Golf GTI “Dark Edition” by ABT – 0-100km/h in 5.8s

ABT has announced their latest styling and performance upgrade for the Volkswagen Mk7 Golf GTI. Set to be unveiled at this month’s 2013 Essen Motor Show, Golf GTI “Dark Edition” wears a black paint finish with red accents on the tasteful body kit.

The body kit comprise a front spoiler and skirt, restyled side skirts, rear hatch trim and a rear skirt featuring quad black chrome exhaust setup. It rolls on 20-inch black alloy wheels wrapped in 235/30R20 high performance tyres. The dark them continues with the tuner also applying dark finish on the headlights, taillights, mirror caps and even badges for that menacing look.

Under the bonnet, ABT upgraded the Golf GTI’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine to churn out 221kW, up from 169kW. The result is a 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds, 0.7 seconds quicker than the Golf GTI Performance on which it is based.
