Shelby Performance Parts offers Mustang wide body kit package

Shelby Performance Parts (SPP), the in-house tuning arm of Shelby, has released a new wide body kit for the 2005-2009 model year Mustangs. The wide body package was first fitted to a 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake and unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier in January this year. The body kit is now officially available for order through SPP in America.

“The Shelby Wide Body Kit, seen on our candy red Super Snake at the North American International Auto Show, resulted in so many requests from Shelby and Mustang owners, we immediately went to work developing a package to meet the demand,” said Shelby Performance Parts Vice President Jer Gervasi. “Now customers can have a Shelby Wide Body Kit customized for their ride, without shipping it to our Las Vegas facilities.”

The wide body kit package includes extended front and rear quarter panels good for a swell of up to 6-inches to the fenders. The wider fenders allow the fitment of fatter wheels of up to 13 inches at the rear and 10 inches at the front. Customer can also opt for just the rear fenders if desired in the rear only package.

“The Shelby Wide Body Kit was developed exclusively by Shelby American to not only improve styling, but performance as well. With the ability to clear 345 wide rear tires, the Mustang’s power will hook up like never before,” according to Shelby.

The body panels are made of lightweight fibreglass components through precise craftsmanship to ensure OEM-quality fit and finish. The rear only package for 2005-2009 Mustangs and Shelbys starts at US$3,399, while the four quarter panel kit goes for US$5,999, not including wheels and tires.
