Brabus have unveiled the world’s fastest cabriolet, the Brabus 850 6.0 Cabrio.
Having started out life as a ‘tame’ Mercedes-AMG S63, the Cabrio has undergone a pretty extreme upgrade, taking the bi-turbo V8 from from a brisk 430kW to a ridiculous 625kW.
There were no shortcuts taken with this build, the cylinders were bored to 6.0-litres, it has a new crankshaft, forged pistons, rods, heads, intake, exhaust and a set of uprated turbochargers. All that power, channelled to all fours through a seven-speed gearbox. From a standstill, Brabus claim the Cabrio will hit 100km/h in a staggering 3.5 seconds.
Brabus haven’t stopped at the mechanicals, they also offer a full carbon-fibre aero kit along with 21-inch wheels and a bespoke interior, setup to your individual taste.
No details on pricing are available but you can expect it won’t be cheap, considering the S63 will cost you $319,000 before you get started.
