Audi R8 Hyper Black Edition

If you think the Audi R8 with its 5.2-litre V10 isn’t quick or mean enough, fret no more. Anderson Germany has waved its wand at Audi’s flagship supercar and it’s called the Audi R8 Hyper Black Edition. The transformation includes both aesthetic modifications as well as a few modest performance enhancements.

First up, the ECU was reconfigured. Then a modified air filter and a custom sports exhaust system were added. This eliminated 22kg from the weight of the car compared with the stock unit. It also came with a remote-controlled valve adjusting system that let the driver opt from three different levels of noise. All these produced an extra 64hp (48kW) for a total output of 589hp (439kW).

As the name suggests, the car is painted in a ‘Hyper Black’ colour and is fitted with carbon fibre coated 19-inch wheels in a black finish with orange edging. A similar orange hue is also used on the brake callipers.

Carbon fibre has also been liberated on the front lip spoiler, rear spoiler, window frames and rear diffuser.

Inside, the R8 V10’s cabin is covered in orange Alcantara and a special black carbon fibre leather trim.

The car definitely would not look out of place in Darth Vader’s garage!
