AC Schnitzer dials up BMW i8’s sex appeal

Renowned BMW tuner, AC Schnitzer has optimised one of the most advanced sports cars in the BMW catalogue, the i8.

Introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the tuner has chosen to leave the performance side of the car untouched, instead focusing on dialing up its sex factor even further.

The i8 by AC Schnitzer sits 25mm lower at the front and 20mm at the rear, making it significantly closer to the road than the standard vehicle for greater stability.

Finished in a striking satin red paint job, it contrasts beautifully with generous amounts of carbon fibre, including the carbon front spoiler elements, bonnet top, front side wings, side skirts and rear wing.

The carbon air outlets at the front and rear not only give the i8 a visual lift, but also provide a more intelligent structure of the wheel arch vents.

At the back, the large carbon fibre rear diffuser provides a suction effect operating on the underfloor region of the i8.

Finally, the makeover is finished off with a set of lightweight 21-inch AC1 forged alloy wheels in bicolor or Anthracite shod with 245/35 R 21 and 285/30 R 21 tyres.
