ABT boosts 2017 Audi S5 Cabriolet to RS5-level of performance

The new Audi S5 Cabriolet isn’t what you would describe as lacking in muscle, boasting 260kW and a stout 500Nm of torque direct from the factory, but that doesn’t stop ABT from turning up the wick on the handsome drop-top.

With the tuner’s magic wand waved over the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6, the ABT-tuned S5 Cabriolet now churns out a potent 313kW of power and 550Nm of torque, taking it into the Audi RS5 territory.

ABT hasn’t released the performance figures of its tuned S5, but we can expect it to beat the standard model’s 4.7 seconds sprint to 100km/h.

Customers can also choose from a selection cosmetic upgrade to complement the power boost, including DR and ER-C design alloy wheels in 19- or 20-inch, and FR and GR designs offered exclusively in 20-inch. They are finished in either gun-metal, silver-bullet, as well as matte and gloss black colour schemes. Depending on the finish chosen, the rims are diamond-polished for a more sophisticated look.

Moving into the cabin, customers opting for the ABT custom styling will be welcomed by an ABT logo when the entrance lights are turned on. This is complemented by custom floor mats and valve caps with the tuner’s logo.

ABT says those wanting a more bespoke exterior styling for their S5 can now register their interest online for the upcoming aerodynamic package, which can be easily retrofitted when it becomes available.
