The BMW M2 is fast becoming a tuner’s favourite – not surprising given its stunning coupe body shape and potent turbocharged straight-six engine. The latest tuner to jump onboard the M2 is Japanese aerodynamic specialist 3D Design.

Turning the heat up on the already aggressive styling of the M2 even further, the 3D Design aero package equips the smallest M car with a front splitter, side carnards, side skirt extensions, a fixed rear spoiler and rear diffuser inserts. All body panels are made of carbon fibre, of course.

A set of custom matte black 19-inch wheels and lowered ride height complete the exterior makeover.

Strictly a styling exercise, the M2’s 272kW/465Nm 3.0-litre turbocharged in-line six cylinder petrol engine was left intact. Driving through the rear wheels, the engine in the M2 is mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT).
