Volkswagen teases T-Roc small SUV ahead of world debut

It has been more than two years since Volkswagen previewed its new small crossover with the T-Roc concept. Now, the company is in countdown mode for the world premiere of the production model, which is bow in on 23 August 2017.

Described as a new model that will “make waves” in the compact SUV class, the T-Roc will sit beneath the Tiguan and boasts crisp proportions, a progressive design and innovations.

Volkswagen says the car’s design will adopt off-road features and “infuses these with dynamism and urban appeal”.

Based on the T-Roc concept, the production model gets a bold exterior with a wide grille featuring integrated headlights and distinctive LED daytime running lights that function as turn signals.

Along the sides, the metallic window surrounds continue through to the thick C-pillar, while a roof-mounted spoiler adorn the stylized tailgate with wraparound LED taillights.

The latest teaser video also provides us with a glimpse of the car’s interior, which showcases colour-coordinated trim that matches the exterior paint job, along with VW’s latest infotainment system.
