Volkswagen has released a couple of teaser images, as well as a video, of the GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo, which is expected to make its official debut at this year’s Wörthersee gathering in Australia.

Set to be offered exclusively in the latest Gran Turismo 6 driving simulation game, the GTI Supersport represents a follow-up to last year’s stunning GTI Vision Gran Turismo.

This time around though, the car takes the shape of a three-door hatch with a similarly bulbous wide body kit and an updated front fascia with slightly different front headlight signature. At the back, there’s a massive carbon fibre roof-mounted rear wing and slightly different rear taillights.

According to Volkswagen, carbon fibre is also used on the rear diffuser flanked by a pair of round tailpipes featuring metallic finish.

As for the car’s powerplant, we’ll have to wait for the car’s debut to learn more. However, last year’s concept was powered by a twin-turbo VR6 3.0-litre TSI petrol engine churning out 375kW and 665Nm of torque connected to a seven-speed DSG and Volkswagen 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
