Volkswagen releases new photos of 2013 Golf Mk7 GTD

Volkswagen has released a new set of photos of the 2013 MK7 Golf GTD. The diesel powered hot hatch is motivated by a new 2.0-litre TDI engine that develops 135kW and 379 Nm of torque. This allows the GTD to launch from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 230 km/h.

Power is transferred to the front wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox.

The GTD gets similar exterior features as its GTI petrol sibling, such as the GTI front grille, black accents, LED taillights and 17-inch “Curitiba” wheels with 225mm wide tyres as standard.

Inside, the trademark tartan cloth seats remain, again in grey. The sporty theme continues with stainless steel pedals, a sports steering wheel and black headlining.

The 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk GTD is expected to arrive in Australia either late this year or early 2014.
