Besides the spectacular Golf GTI Vision Gran Turismo concept, Volkswagen has also presented this Golf Variant Youngster 5000 at the 2014 Wörthersee gathering in Austria.

Created by six Volkswagen apprentices from Zwickau, Germany, the Youngster 5000’s name actually refers to the one-off iPad-controlled 5,000-watt sound system installed in the skids at the back. The hot-wagon is painted in Arancio argos pearl hue.

The apprentices have also swapped the standard wagon’s suspension with Bilstein adjustable ones, which can be controlled via an iPhone. Visually, the wagon wears an R-Line body kit which brings sportier front and rear bumpers and side sills.

Powering the Youngster 5000 is Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine pinched from the Mk7 Golf GTI that has been tweaked to produce 235kW (320PS) of power, 66kW (90PS) more than the Golf GTI Performance and even the Golf R!
