Volkswagen Golf Mk7 – First official teasers and video

In eleven days, the most important car from Volkswagen, the Golf Mk7, will be unveiled at a special event in Berlin. In the meantime, the company held a special media preview of the model in Germany where it outlined the most important features of the new hatch.

Several high-resolution photos and a video were also released during the preview. Unfortunately, the teaser photos are still under cover, but you can just make out the details of the Golf’s headlights.

Some of the highlight features available on the new Golf Mk7 include Multicollision Brake, City Emergency Braking, Front transverse diff. lock and Adaptive Cruise Control, just to outline a few.

The new car, built on the company’s latest MQB platform, will be up to 100kg (220lbs) lighter than the outgoing model, despite growing in key dimensions. It will also be up to 25% more fuel efficient, thanks to fuel saving technologies such as cylinder deactivation and engine stop/start.

The Volkswagen Golf Mk7 will premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, with European sales to start in November, while the rest of the world in 2013.
