Volkswagen has previewed its CC concept with a couple of official sketches. Set to make its official debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Passat-based CC will likely hit the market in 2017.

While no other details have been released, Volkswagen says the concept will feature an “innovative” all-wheel drive system. Power is said to come from a turbocharged petrol engine working together with two electric motors.

It’s likely the powerplant will be based on the Passat GTE’s 1.4 TSI engine teamed with an electric motor to deliver 160kW of power driving Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

From the sketches, the new model appears to sport a different grille design to Volkswagen’s latest range of vehicle, while the rear looks like a subtle evolution of the current model.
