Subaru WRX, WRX STI and BRZ Hyper Blue edition coming in Oct

2016 Subaru WRX STI in Hyper Blue

Subaru Australia has announced it will launch three special edition sports variants in a one-off Hyper Blue colour scheme.

Set to be available in showrooms from Oct 1, Subaru says just 200 WRX Premiums with Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission, 50 WRX STI Premiums Manual and 50 BRZs (in both manual, automatic and option pack that brings leather and Alcantara seats with heated front seats) will be sold in the distinctive hue.

“This will be a rare opportunity for 300 buyers to purchase a Subaru in a very distinctive hue,” said Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior.

“We feel that like many other of our special edition colours in the past, these vehicles will be keenly sought after in the years to come.

“There’s always massive interest in our sports special edition versions. Combine that with their proven track record of excellent retained value, and you have every reason to get the blues,” Senior adds.

Combined WRX and WRX STI sales of 1936 were up 7.7 per cent year-to-date to the end of July, putting them on a par with the late 1990s heyday of the Mark 1 originals.

Mr Senior added: “The fun factor is always high with BRZ and WRX. These specials amp it up with a head-turning colour scheme that only adds to their appeal.”

Pricing and specification will be announced to coincide with on-sale.
