Subaru explores shooting brake idea with VIZIV Tourer Concept

Subaru has unveiled another variation of its long-running VIZIV concept models. Taking centre stage at Subaru’s booth at this week’s Geneva Motor Show is the new VIZIV Tourer Concept, a model designed to showcase the brand’s vision for future design and its self-driving technologies.

Designed on a tourer theme, the VIZIV Tourer Concept unites Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive layout and Boxer engine with Subaru’s expertise in driving performance, practicality and safety.

In anticipation of widespread future deployment of automated driving technologies, advanced driver-assist functions include the next-generation EyeSight driver-assist system and other devices to reduce driver fatigue on long journeys.

Subaru says its design and development will advance in directions indicated by the VIZIV Concept models. The name VIZIV has been coined from the phrase “Vision for Innovation.”

With seating for four the VIZIV Tourer Concept design is based on Subaru’s shared “Dynamic x Solid” design philosophy. It’s Subaru first take on the Shooting Brake body style and we like what we see.

The concept combines advanced driver-assist technologies, including an enhanced EyeSight safety system scheduled for launch around 2020, with a boxer engine and symmetrical AWD, creating a tourer “symbolizing the Enjoyment and Peace of Mind”.
