Subaru Australia introduces Special Edition WRX

2016 subaru wrx special edition

Subaru Australia has wheeled out their latest special edition model, the Subaru WRX Special Edition.

Created to celebrate 50,000 sales of the WRX locally, the special edition is based on the WRX Premium and costs $46,890 plus on-roads for the manual, and $48,890 plus on-roads for the CVT automatic – a $2,000 premium over the donor car.

It adds 18-inch black BBS alloy wheels, red accents to the partial leather seats, door trims, air-conditioning dials and on top of the driver’s display. DIY shifters also gain an STI gear knob.

There is no change to the car’s 2.0-litre turbocharged boxer engine, which produces 197kW of power and 350Nm of torque sent to all four wheels via Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system.

The WRX Special Edition is offered in a choice of five colours – Crystal Black, WR Blue, Dark Grey, Crystal White and Ice Silver.

Only 200 of the limited edition model will be built, with most already spoken for.
