Renault has unveiled the Renault Talisman Estate, which will join its sedan sibling unwrapped in July this year.

Measuring the same size as its sedan counterpart, it also shares the same technological features, along with extra load-carrying ability accessed through a powered tailgate, which is activate by the wave of a foot underneath the rear bumper.

The Talisman Estate offers 572 litres (VDA) of boot space up to the parcel shelf and a maximum load length of 1,116mm. This increases to 1,700 litres (VDA) with the rear seats folded, which also increases the load length to 2,010mm.

The load lugger also benefits from 30mm of extra headroom at the rear, extending it to 885mm.

Most of the sedan’s features are carried over to the estate, including 8-way electrically adjustable massage seats with 4-way electric lumbar adjustment, aviation-style six-way adjustable head rests, heated and ventilated seats and a 12-speakers BOSE Surround sound system with subwoofer.

There’s also a comprehensive list of driving aids such as adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition with over speed prevention, blind sport warning and park assistance.

The Talisman Estate’s engine lineup includes:

  • The Energy TCe 150 and Energy TCe 200 petrol engines mated with a 7-speed dual clutch EDC automatic
  • The Energy dCi 110 diesel mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual clutch EDC automatic
  • The Energy dCi 130 paired with the 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual clutch EDC automatic
  • The twin turbo Energy dCi 160 which drives exclusively through 6-speed dual clutch EDC transmission.

Renault currently has no plans to produce the Talisman Estate in Right Hand Drive, ruling out the model for Australia.
