Official Photos and Details of New Aston Martin Vanquish

Aston Martin has officially unveiled the new Aston Martin Vanquish, a replacement for the high-performance DBS.

Although looking somewhat similar to the outgoing DBS, the new Vanquish sits on an all new ‘VH’ platform. The body panels of the coupé are made of light weight carbon fibre that keeps weight down but rigidity up – Aston Martin quoted up to 25 percent more rigid.

Underneath the gorgeous skin lives a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, a rarity, in these days of forced induction power plants. It produces 421kW (564hp/572PS) of power and 620Nm (457lb-ft) of torque. The new Vanquish is most powerful road-going Aston Martin, outside of the limited edition 560kW (750hp/761PS) AM One-77. The engine is teamed up with a Touchtronic 2 6-speed automatic gearbox.

This is enough to propel the Super Grand Tourer from 0 – 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 295km/h (183mph).

Inside, the redesigned dash board houses a new multimedia infotainment unit, complemented by semi diamond-quilted leather seats, plush carpets and trimmings. The Vanquish can also be configured as a 2+2 with rear seats if specified. There is more space in the interior of the new car as well compare to its forerunner, while the boot space is also 60 percent larger at 368 litres.

“The Aston Martin range is stronger now than at any time in our 99-year history. The new Vanquish represents the perfect way to signal the beginning of our centenary celebration next year,” said Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez.

Order books for the new Vanquish in the UK are now opened, with prices starting from £189,995.
