Nissan Pulsar Hatch price & specification – starts from $18,990

Nissan has released the pricing and specification for the Pulsar Hatch range (Pulsar Hatch SSS pictured). Scheduled for local launch in early June, the Pulsar Hatch starts from $18,990 plus on-road costs for the ST Manual.

“The all-new Nissan Pulsar Hatch is the next exciting instalment in our busy product schedule this year,” said Nissan Australia Managing Director and CEO, William F Peffer Jr.

“My team and I are confident Australian Small Car buyers will find the all-new Pulsar Hatch to be exceptional value. Each grade in the Pulsar Hatch model range has a compelling mix of price and standard equipment.”

Nissan hopes the Pulsar Hatch will help advance the Pulsar range further up the hotly contested small car ladder. The fondly missed Pulsar Hatch SSS is also back.

Two engines are on offer. The ST and ST-L are powered by the same 96kW/174Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine as the Sedan range, while the ST-S and SSS are both powered by a 140kW/240Nm turbocharged 1.6-litre direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engine.

As with the sedan line-up, all variants are available with either a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT), which costs $2,250 on the ST and ST-L and $2,500 on the ST-S and SSS.

All models within the Pulsar range are relatively well specified, with the ST delivered with 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, cruise control, 4-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity and cloth seats.

The Pulsar Hatch ST-L costs an extra $3,500 and adds front fog lights, rear spoiler, 6-speaker audio with USB/iPod connectivity, 4.3-inch colour display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium cloth trim and rear centre armrest.

Stepping up to the ST-S trim for another $2,500 brings the more powerful engine as well as 17-inch alloy wheels.

The range topping Pulsar Hatch SSS costs a not insignificant $4,250 but adds an extensive list of premium equipment. This includes xenon headlights, front spoiler, side skirts, rear lower spoiler, 5.8-inch touch screen colour display, satellite navigation with 3D mapping, Bluetooth audio streaming, rear-view camera, leather accented seats, dual-zone climate control, proximity key entry and push-button start.

Technical details such as fuel consumption, emissions and performance times will be released closer to launch.
