Next-generation Lexus ES unveiled ahead of Beijing debut

Lexus has released the first full image of the all-new ES ahead of the sedan’s global debut at the Beijing International Motor Show next week. The full front quarter shot of the midsize sedan is accompanied by a teaser video giving a shadowy glimpse of the car’s front, side and taillights.

The overall design borrows heavily from the flagship Lexus LS, resulting in low and sleek design.

The ES is one of Lexus’ best selling models and the most popular sedan in its line-up. Lexus says the seventh generation model springs from a “re-imagined luxury equation”, featuring “engaging design, athletic performance and renowned Lexus refinement”.

Technical details for the new ES remain scarce but expect powertrain options to include a new petrol-electric hybrid and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol. All will be revealed at Auto China 2018 in Beijing, on Wednesday, April 25.
