Next-Gen Suzuki Swift Sport to be revealed at Frankfurt Motor Show

Just over 4 months ago we had the third generation Suzuki Swift announced at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. Now, Suzuki has officially confirmed details of the new Suzuki Swift Sport will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12 two days before the show opens to public from 14 to 24 September.

As it stands, there is currently no specs revealed about the new Swift Sport, however we can only speculate on a more powerful engine as the outgoing model sports (pun intended) a 1.6-litre engine producing 100kW of power. Pricing wise, we will see the Swift Sport take over the top grade GLX model starting from $22,990 plus on-road cost.

Suzuki has always created a subtle sportier look on the Swift Sport and from the only photo Suzuki has released so far, we can see an all new front with larger grille, accentuated fog lights and splitter that extends its line to the black side skirt. Continuing on the black theme, Suzuki have also included an all new two tone alloy wheel design.

‘Embodying the brand’s sporty profile, the Swift Sport has always held a special place in Suzuki’s lineup since the first generation launched in 2005,’ Suzuki’s press release stated.

‘Five years on from the Australian launch of the current version, the new third-generation model has undergone a complete redesign and delivers an all-new level of excitement for sport minded drivers across the world.’

The latest Suzuki Swift became available to us in Australia last month in June, however it is unknown when the Swift Sport will be set to land. We cannot wait to see what else Suzuki has planned for one of the best value small sports hatch available.
