The redesigned Infiniti Q70 has been unwrapped at the 2014 New York International Auto Show today.

The new 2015 Q70 puts on a dramatic fresh exterior aimed at giving the premium sedan an even more upscale image. Up front, Infiniti’s signature LED headlights accentuate the new waved-mesh grille, while the new front bumper with integrated fog lights gives the Q70 better on-road presence.

From the back, the Q70 looks wider and lower thanks to a slimmer rear bumper and a flattened trunk lid, further underlining the premium sedan’s powerful styling.

A long wheelbase version, the Q70L (pictured), which is almost 6 inches longer than the standard model, broadens Infiniti’s offerings for those who desire enhanced spaciousness and versatility. The additional 5.9 inches in the wheelbase translate to better rear legroom for rear passengers.

Infiniti has also added four innovative technologies to the Q70’s long list of safety and security systems, which are available depending on the series.

The Q70 now offers the new Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, which can sense not only the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle traveling in front of the preceding one. Other collision avoidance systems include the Backup Collision Intervention® system and Forward Emergency Braking.

Taking the hassle out of parallel parking, the Around View® Monitor system shows a bird’s-eye view of the sedan in relation to parking lines via the in-dash screen.

“The Q70 has always been in a class of its own with its authentic sport performance and user-friendly technologies,” said Vincent Gillet, Vice President, Marketing, Infiniti Motor Company Limited. “The latest evolution of the Q70 hones all that into a sleek and seductive package that combines both performance and comfort.”

Two engine choices are available for the Q70 – a 3.7-litre V6 developing 235 kW and 360 Nm, or a 3.0-litre turbo diesel rated at 175 kW and 550 Nm.
