Mercedes-Benz has announced the A-Class based CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG duo will gain the power hike recently introduced for the refreshed A 45 AMG.

Mercedes-AMG chief, Tobias Moers, told British publication Autocar that buyers of the two popular models wouldn’t have to wait until the car’s respective facelifts to get the extra oomph.

AMG has wound up the wick on the M133 AMG 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder mill that produces 280kW and 475Nm at 2,250 – 5,000rpm, up 15kW and 25Nm on the pre-facelift A 45 AMG.

Besides a boost in power, the CLA and GLA 45 AMG will also gain the updated AMG Speedshift dual-clutch 7-speed transmission, which gets shorter ratios in third to seventh gear along with improved shift and response times.
