Mercedes celebrates F1 win with SL63 AMG Collector’s Edition

Mercedes SL63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector's Edition

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating an ultra successful year in Formula One by releasing a pair of special edition SL63 AMGs.

Aptly named the SL63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition, the duo was developed with the assistance of the brand’s F1 drivers – Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, who both took out the 1st and 2nd spot on the driver’s championship ladder, respectively.

Both cars were unveiled during the Stars and Cars event in Stuttgart overnight with subtle changes compared to the regular SL63 AMG. One can guess who had a hand in developing each car based on the racetrack featured on the car. Lewis Hamilton’s SL is adorned with the Silverstone track, while Nico Rosberg’s features the Hockenheim.

Only 19 units of the World Championship Edition will be built. Mercedes hasn’t released any pricing, but it is safe to assume they will cost more than the $384,530 asking price for the regular model.
