Mazda CX-3 leaked ahead of LA Show debut

Mazda CX-3 SUV

Update: Since this post was published, Mazda has officially confirmed that this is indeed the new CX-3. Its powertrain line-up includes the SKYACTIV-D 1.5-litre clean diesel engine and SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine, depending on the market. The model also offers a wide range of Mazda’s latest technologies, including the MZD Connect car connectivity system and i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety features.

A trio of leaked images, purported to be the upcoming Mazda CX-3 has surfaced online. Looking rather legitimate, the images was published by Newsauto.

Sporting Mazda’s family face and sharp styling, the CX-3 will sit under the Japanese brand’s CX-5 SUV and is based on the recently launched Mazda2 hatch.

Inside, the small SUV’s dash seems to be borrowed from its Mazda2 sibling as well, with a clean but contemporary design. Not much else is known about the model at this stage, but it is likely to share the Mazda2’s engine, and even perhaps the slightly larger power plants in the CX-5.

The Mazda CX-3 will make its official debut at the LA Motor Show, along with the facelifted CX-5 and Mazda6, as well as the new MX-5 roadster.
