Just last week, two black Lexus RC F pre-production models were spotted cruising along a busy stretch of Californian highway.

This week, another RC F prototype has been caught undergoing road test on the streets of California. Unlike the half-painted prototypes spotted last week, the striking Ultrasonic Blue RC F seen here looked straight out of a showroom floor, with no camouflage other than a covered Lexus badge.

The Lexus RC F first made its debut at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year. The BMW M4 rivalling coupe is expected to enter full production in the third quarter of 2014.

While the company has declined to release specific performance figures, the RC F promises to be the most powerful V8 performance car ever developed by Lexus, equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 engine with “well above 330kW (450hp) of power and 520Nm of torque” that could enable it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds and en route to a top speed of 300km/h (186mph).

Along with the spy photos, a pre-order RC F brochure released by Lexus dealerships in the USA has also surfaced. Although no pricing information is printed, the brochure details some key features of the RC F Performance model and the Carbon model.
