Latest Pictures: 2012 BMW M5

Due to be launched in 2012, the new BMW M5, code named F10 was recently put on display at a special by-invitation only event at the BMW M facility in Garching.

The F10 M5 borrows styling cues from its smaller brother M3 as can be seen from the front and rear bumper design. The wheels are borrowed from the M6 only painted in black. However it is still not 100% confirmed that the production model will look exactly this the one displayed here, although I would say bar the wheels, this is pretty much final.

The new 2012 BMW M5 is expected to be powered by a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8. Although with 2 fewer cylinders compared to the outgoing model, the new engine weights in less and is more efficient due to the use of forced induction. Power figure is expected to be at around 578 horsepower and also a maximum torque of 531 lb-ft (719 Nm).
