Lamborghini Perdigón Concept to Rival Bugatti Veyron?

Just when you thought the almighty Bugatti Veyron can never have a challenger, what we are looking at here may just be one, at least according to Ondrej Jirec, an art student at the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, California who designed the concept.

The design study is a Lamborghini concept called the Perdigón, envisioned as the next supercar to topple the Bugatti Veyron which is currently the fastest and most expensive car money can buy.

The Lamborghini Perdigón’s design is totally out of this world. It’s angular shape, panoramic glass roof, centre-mounted air intake and huge rear diffuser are nothing like we have seen before from past and current Lamborghini’s.

The futuristic design carries on into the interior with a spaceship-like cockpit and radical seats. Hidden underneath the centre console is a channel from the centre air intake for air to cool the transmission and engine.

“Overall, it is a very conceptual and extreme project, almost at the border with entertainment design”, explains Jirec.

“I wanted to push “jet fighter stealth” styling to the limit and see how far it could go. Design theme throughout the whole vehicle body features very sharp, angled and polygonal surfacing. This is combined with highly 3D proportions.”
