Kia has released a second teaser of the upcoming third generation Sorento SUV. The teasing campaign started when Kia partially unveiled the new Sorento’s exterior last week, highlighting the new model’s muscular stance, rounded shoulders at the rear, and deeply sculpted body surfaces.

The new teaser shows a sketch of the SUV’s interior, with the Korean car maker citing the new cabin “will raise the bar for luxury in its segment”. The brand also said the smoothly-contoured interior will boast a wrap-around dashboard, high quality soft-touch materials and a rqange of advanced on-board technologies.

Kia hopes the new design will raise the aesthetic sophistication of its highest-selling SUV.

The interior styling was led by the brand’s design team in Frankfurt, Germany, which cited the finest modern Swiss watches as a key influence during the design phase. A large infotainment screen dominates the center of the dashboard, which employs long, flowing shapes to envelope the driver and front passenger and to emphasize the width and space of the larger cabin.

Just earlier this month, the Kia Sorento prototype was spotted by our friendly spy photographers undergoing final testing in the German Alps.

Like the outgoing Sorento, which was launched in 2009, the new model will share the same platform as the Hyundai Santa Fe. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variant will be offered, powered by petrol or diesel engines.

The all-new Kia Sorento will be showcased in Korea in late August, and is due to make its European premiere on Thursday 2 October at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
