While Jaguar has officially confirmed their upcoming SUV, the Jaguar F-Pace, fresh reports has emerged about the J-Pace (Jaguar C-X17 shown above).
Set to slot in above the F-Pace, the larger J-Pace is designed to rival the upcoming 7 seats BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS.
According to Automobile Magazine, the new model is likely to be based on the Range Rover, sharing its platform and possibly off-road hardware, but featuring unique sheet metal. The report went on to say like the Range Rover it’s based, a long-wheelbase variant can also be expected.
As for the SUV’s engine options, we can look forward to a range of V6 and V8 powertrains, as well as a plug-in hybrid variant. High-performance models wearing the RS and SVR are also likely to be on the cards.
If it all pans out, the new models will hit the market in 2019.
