Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge charges up Goodwood Hill with 404kW

Infiniti has today released footage of the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge powering up the Goodwood Hill at the recently concluded Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Q50 Eau Rouge created a stir when it was unwrapped in Detroit and Geneva late last year. The concept made its first driving debut in front of the 50,000 car fanatics who packed the grounds of Goodwood House in Sussex, UK, on each of the four days of the world’s biggest and famous motoring garden party.

Powered by the same mighty twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine found in the Nissan GT-R, the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge charged up the hillclimb at full speed with 404kW of power and 628Nm of torque. Behind the wheel were F1 ace Sébastien Buemi and Infiniti Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner.

At the Moving Motor Show, enthusiastic crowds queued for a chance to drive the new Infiniti Q50 models up the famous hill, with a lucky few even savouring a drive in the ultra-exclusive Infiniti FX Vettel Edition – the limited edition V8 crossover developed with the four times F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, who is also Infiniti’s Director of Performance.

The Q50 Eau Rouge started out as a high-performance design study based on the the Infiniti Q50 premium sedan. A prototype has since been built and undergone on-track dynamics testing at the Millbrook Proving Ground.

A decision to take the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge to production is currently under evaluation. If greenlighted for production, the Q50 Eau Rouge will take on the likes of BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG.
