Hyundai Australia has announced a slew of sporty upgrades to the sports-tuned variant the company’s top-selling i30 small hatchback.
New exterior upgrades to the i30 Series II SR range include 17-inch, grey-metallic machined-face alloy wheels shod with 225-45R17 tyres and the addition of a bold ‘Phoenix Orange’ exterior colour exclusive to the SR.
Inside, the refreshed i30 SR scores black leather upholstery, red inserts on seat bolsters, and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and front door armrests. Dark grey-metallic interior trim highlights replace the previous silver trim highlights in all variants, and the headlining is now black, in place of the previous grey. A striking red push-button start surround trim replaces the previous silver trim surround.
While the 129kW/209Nm 2.0 normally aspirated petrol engine remains intact, SR variants equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission now come standard with paddle-shifters. Panoramic glass sunroof is now available as an option on i30 SR but remains a standard feature on the SR Premium variant.
Pricing for the i30 ranges from $26,550 plus ORCs for the i30 six-speed manual to $33,550 plus ORCs for SR Premium Automatic. All i30 SR variants come standard with Hyundai’s industry-leading five-year/unlimited warranty.
