Honda Civic Hatch Diesel arriving in April from $26,990

The Honda Civic Hatch range is about to welcome a new addition – the Honda Civic Hatch Diesel. It is Honda Australia’s first diesel vehicle and will be launched in April.

The Civic Hatch DTi-S will sport the company’s 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine, the first engine from the new Earth Dream Technology series. It produces 88kW of power and 300Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is rated at 4L/100km, while CO2 emission is an impressive 105g/km. It is paired with a newly designed lightweight and compact six-speed manual transmission that promises to deliver class-leading transmission efficiency, a smooth and accurate feel when changing gears and a new reverse system which delivers improved operation load and quietness.

Honda Australia Director and General Manager Sales and Marketing, Mr. Stephen Collins, said the introduction of the DTi-S is an exciting and welcome addition to the Civic Hatch range.

“This all-new 1.6 litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine is a first for Honda in Australia.”

“Earth Dreams Technology was created from an awareness of rising fuel prices combined with increasingly stringent environmental performance targets. This new generation of powertrain brings advanced driving performance and low emissions within reach of our customers,” Mr. Collins said.

Like the rest of the Civic Hatch range, the Civic Hatch Diesel is sourced from the company’s European factory.

The Civic Hatch DTi-S is comprehensively equipped with features such as Honda’s Magic seats, a tyre deflation warning system, daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto stop/idle stop, Hill Start Assist, auto headlights and wipers, dual zone climate control, ECON Mode, Intelligent Multi-Information Display and a five-star ANCAP safety rating.

The 2013 Honda Civic Hatch Diesel DTi-S is priced from $26,990 plus on-roads.
