Holden enhances MY15 VF Commodore range

Holden MY15 VF SSV Redline Commodore

Holden has introduced the mildly updated MY15 Holden VF Commodore today, boasting a number of new features and additions that offer improved technology and driving experience.

With approximately 37 percent of Commodore buyers ticking the V8 option, and nearly one in four selecting the SS nameplate, it comes as no surprise that the SS V Redline gets the majority of the goodies.

It now gets the much longed for steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for the automatic transmission as well as Jet Black interior and slipt-rim-design 19-inch black alloy wheels as standard.

Two new colours have been added to the lineup. The “Some Like It Hot Red” will be introduced across the range, whilst “Jungle Green” is reserved for the sports models, including the SSV Redline.

A new black roof option will become available on the SSV Redline Sedan models in Red Hot, Jungle Green and Heron White early in 2015.

Across the range, the VF’s Electronic Power Steering system has been recalibrated to enhance on-centre steering feel and precision. Holden engineers have also further improved steering refinement with a new level of smoothness. There are three unique steering calibrations for the MY15 VF Commodore:

  • Touring – FE1 (Evoke, Calais, Calais V, Caprice V)
  • Sport – FE2 and FE3 (SV6, SS, SS V)
  • Sport and Competitive – FE3 (SS V Redline)

With the introduction of ISOFIX child-seat standards to Australia, the VF Commodore now offers ISOFIX anchorage points across all three rear seats. The car’s standard reversing camera has also been enhanced with dynamic guidelines.

Elsewhere in the Commodore range, Holden has listened to customer feedback and both SV6 and Calais now receive a full-sized alloy spare wheel as standard, replacing the Tyre Sealant and Air Compressor kit.

To streamline the Commodore range, the LPG drivetrain option has been discontinued for SV6 models and the Caprice line-up has been consolidated into a single Caprice V specification, available with V6 or V8 power.

Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Gerry Dorizas, said the VF Commodore was a car that keeps getting better, delivering state-of-the-art sports and luxury driving to Australian motorists.

“Although VF is only 17 months old, we are committed to keeping the product fresh and giving customers what they want – this is the essence of any customer-oriented company and our focus on being the most customer-centric brand in Australia,” Mr Dorizas said.

“I’ve driven countless cars right around the globe, and the Commodore is a truly world-class vehicle. The success of our Calais and Redline models, in particular, speaks to the strength of our product and Commodore’s consumer appeal.

“I invite anyone to take the challenge: get behind the wheel of a VF and see how it stacks up against its European competitors. If you’re driving a BMW, Mercedes or Audi sedan or wagon, I invite you to test drive a VF Commodore. The VF has always turned heads and I guarantee it will change minds.”

Mr Dorizas said Holden had also listened to customer feedback when developing the upgrades for the MY15 VF Commodore.

“We’ve listened to our customers and have focussed the upgrades where they count, such as the addition of paddle-shifters for SS V Redline automatic transmission to provide an even sportier driving experience. Combined with low running costs and Holden’s outstanding Capped Price Service offer, no other car on sale offers the combination of value, technology, safety and driving pleasure that customers will enjoy in the updated Model Year 15 VF Commodore range,” Mr Dorizas said.
