Helicopter drops 2019 Chevrolet Silverado on raceway for launch

It seems launching a new model with a helicopter is the trend these days. Jaguar has done it. Aston Martin has done it. Ford has done it. And now Chevrolet has jumped on the bandwagon.

The American car maker dramatically helicoptered-in the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado for a sneak peak ahead of its Detroit debut next month. Dropped on a stage at the Texas Raceway, the Silverado 1500 is all new from the ground up and features a sleeker, more streamlined design.

For improved capability and performance, the new Silverado uses a higher-grade alloy in the roll-formed, high-strength-steel bed floor, contributing to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight.

The new Silverado LT Trailboss displayed at launch in Texas is one of eight 2019 Silverado models. It integrates the off-road equipment of the Z71 package as well as a two-inch suspension lift. Unlike aftermarket lift kits, the Trailboss suspension is fully tested, validated and warrantied by Chevrolet.

The 2019 Silverado will make its public debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, exactly 100 years after the first Chevrolet trucks were delivered to customers.
