First Pictures: 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe

Photos of the upcoming Mercedes C-Class Coupe have finally surfaced, just months before its scheduled first appearance at the Geneva Auto Show in March.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new C-Class Coupe looks more macho and grown up with its wedge design. The front and rear end resemble the Sedan version albeit with sportier lines and touches. The roof line is lower and elegantly flows from the A piller to the slightly raised rear end.

The C-Class Coupe is expected to be offered in two engine options. An entry level 228 horsepower V6 and a 300 horsepower direct-injection V6. An in-line direct-injection turbocharged 4 cylinder is also in the cards for the future.

From these first photos and information, it seems Mercedes have finally built a car that will rival the long time benchmark of this category, the BMW 3-Series Coupe.
