Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder

The Ferrari 458 Italia is already one of the best looking supercars around today, but there is something rather attractive about cars without a roof.

The 458 Italia is no different. The Spyder you see here is decidedly better looking than is coupé counterpart. These are the first pictures of the red-hot topless Ferrari that is bound for the Frankfurt Motor Show, courtesy of Cheers & Gears fan site.

At this stage, details are scant with regards to the type of roof employed but our source suggest that there’s a retractable hardtop lurking under the dual pod behind the passenger area, as opposed to a traditional cloth roof as previously speculated.

The Spyder will continue to be powered by Ferrari’s magnificent 4.5-litre direction injection V8 currently, serving the 458 Italia coupé. It produces 570hp (419kW) at 9,000 rpm and 540Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via Ferrari’s 7-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission.

Stay tuned as we’ll bring you more about the Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder in the next few weeks.
