Death sentence for Honda Accord Euro

Honda Accord Euro

The aging Honda Accord Euro will be discontinued globally in 2015, with no replacement planned for the once popular model. This was confirmed by Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins.

“February next year will be the final month of production for Australia. The fact is that because the Euro was not sold in the US at all, the lead market was primarily Europe and that segment is declining, so ultimately that led to this global decision,” Collins told our friends at The Motor Report recently.

The Accord Euro has been selling alongside the Accord in Australia for two generations with success with over 60,000 finding homes. However, with North America being one of the Accord’s biggest market, Honda’s headquarter in Japan could not stack up a business case for the new Accord Euro and a decision was made to discontinue the model.

“We were very unique in the world in selling two Accords in the same market, but it was hugely successful for a time,” said Collins.
