Citroën expands C4 range with C4 Aircross AWD

Citroën Australia has introduced the Mitsubishi ASX-based Citroën C4 Aircross compact SUV to its local line-up. The C4 Aircross features a raise driving position and four-wheel drive transmission. It measures 4.34m long, 1.80m wide and 1.63m high.

Priced from $33,990 drive-away for a limited time, the C4 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 110kW of power and 199Nm of torque. It is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and four-wheel drive system with three modes: 4WD, 4WD Lock and 2WD.

During normal driving, the front wheels receive 98 per cent of the engine’s torque to optimize fuel consumption. In low traction conditions, up to 50% of the torque can be distributed to the rear axle.

The C4 Aircross is also equipped with a couple of fuel saving technologies to help it return a combined fuel consumption of 8.1L/100km. An electronically controlled alternator recovers energy during braking and deceleration while the electric power steering only consumes energy when the steering wheel is turning.

For those who don’t require AWD traction, a 2WD model is also available for $31,990 drive-away. It features the same engine and transmission, but returns 7.9L/100km.

Equipment level is high in the C4 Aircross, including seven airbags, an 8 speakers 710 watts Rockford Fosgate sound system with subwoofer, rear view camera, Bluetooth connectivity and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 tyres.
