BMW 4-Series Gran Coupé realistically rendered

The new BMW 4-Series Coupe has been officially unveiled with the convertible expected to follow in the next few months. But the latest line-up to join the BMW family has one more variant to offer – the 4-Series Gran Coupe, and designer Jean-Francois Hubert has shown us what the Gran Coupe will look like with the above render.

The four-door 4-Series coupe adopts the idea of the larger 6-Series Gran Coupe and will sit on the same platform as the 3-Series sedan. The Gran Coupe will have a longer silhouette with the front and rear designs inherited from the 2-door version.

The longer wheelbase in the Gran Coupe, at 2.92 metres, allows for more cabin space and practicality for its occupants while retaining the low-slung sports appeal of the 2-door coupe.

The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe is expected to debut in 2014.
