Audi’s latest S model, the 169kW (230HP) Audi S1 quattro will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, according to a report by Auto Express in the UK.

Citing a source within Ingolstadt, the publication said the S1 quattro will be powered by a detuned version of the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine pinched from the Audi S3 and will feature quattro all-wheel drive as standard. It will be available as either a three or five-door model.

It is unclear at this stage whether a 6-speed manual transmission will be on offer, but a twin-clutch S tronic gearbox will be available.

Besides a powerful engine, the Audi S1 is expected to look beefier than regular A1s. It will feature an aggressive body kit with larger air intakes at the front and quad exhaust pipes at the back.

In the UK, the S1 will likely go on sale in May with pricing that rivals the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
