Audi S1 EKS RX quattro races its pint-size alter ego [video]

Audi S1 EKS RX quattro - main

Audi has released a video featuring two-time DTM champion, Mattias Ekström, tackling an obstacle course with an unlikely challenger – a pint-size version of his S1 EKS RX Quattro race car.

“Behind the wheel” of the scale model of the World Rallycross Championship racer is two-time German Junior Champion, Micha Widmaier.

While Ekström’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder S1 EKS RX Quattro that pumps out 412kW (560 PS) will clearly have the advantage in terms of outright power, Widmaier’s car counters with the ability to zip under obstacles instead of driving around them.

We won’t spoil the outcome for you, but Ekström said: “In the end, it wasn’t about winning or losing. It was a great experience with a great competitor. Small car – big fun.”
